We've been keeping up with Dr. Who Season 4 on Sci-Fi, and this week is the first part of the season ender. I've personally seen Seasons 1 & 2, and
kelshei and I have just finished Season 1 together and will be starting Season 2 fairly soon. Waiting until 2010 for new Who episodes is going to be a pain, but considering how hard the people on that show work, I expect everyone involved in the process needs a break.
Missed Season 3, and apparently I've missed some very neat stuff. A lot of references on the episode "Turn Left" went right by, but that's okay. It was still quite enjoyable. Judging from the two season finales I have seen, plus the fact that they're rounding up all of the side characters from the past seasons, I'm expecting that this two-parter will be blowing the roof off of things.
Enough geeking for now. And please, no spoilers. I know they've already shown on BBC, so be kind.

I'm noticing an upswing in the amount of British television I'm watching. I decided to rent out the first new season of Dr. Who and of course got into the show once again. I was very glad to see the show maintain its own special feel that it's had for me, although I'm also glad to see that the show will take an occasional turn to the more serious. It's hard to call it a dark show overall, and I don't feel like it should ever be a dark show; I've had enough of doom and gloom to last me for quite some time. What is strange is to see Dr. Who done with an actual effects budget at times, though. Mostly, I find I've adapted. *grin*
I followed the first season with the second rather rapidly, and then somehow have managed to miss Season 3 completely. I thought what was on Sci-Fi was season 3 for a bit, but quickly realized my mistake. So now I have some backtracking to do.
Just recently, thanks to On Demand from Comcast, I started watching the 2nd season of Robin Hood as well. I'm finding it enjoyable as well; it's fun without getting too bleak or serious as well. (If I want dark and intriguing, I just keep up with the anime DeathNote...which I like for far different reasons) Besides, who doesn't like a Maid Marian that can kick a little ass?
So, back to Dr. Who...anybody think the Master will make a reappearance? Or did I miss it?
